Non-residential guests are warmly invited to join us for dining at The Slaughters Country Inn. To ensure availability, we recommend reserving a table in advance. You are also welcome to drop by our Field Kitchen (open between April and September), set within our beautiful gardens, where you can enjoy freshly prepared bagels, flatbreads, and ice cream. Please note, the Field Kitchen operates weather permitting.
Car
Directions from London: Take the M40 north leaving at junction 8. Follow the A40 to Oxford and Burford. Turn right at the roundabout into Burford. At the bottom of the hill turn left onto the A24 – Stow Road. After about 8 miles turn left at the traffic lights onto the A429. in 1 mile turn right into the Slaughters, The Slaughters Country Inn is in the centre of the village just over the river on the left.
Rail
For those travelling by train, there is a direct service from London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh. We recommend contacting our Reception team in advance to arrange a taxi for your transfer to The Slaughters Country from the station.
Air
Our nearest airports are Bristol International and Birmingham, 100 miles from London Heathrow and 138 miles from London Gatwick. Should you require a taxi from the airport, please contact our reception team who can assist you with bookings.
Although your room is available to check-in from 3pm, and check-out is at 11am on the day of departure, guests are welcome to arrive earlier or stay after they’ve checked out to enjoy the hotel lounge and gardens or explore our local area.
We offer designated rooms for guests travelling with dogs; please call Reception to arrange your booking. A charge of £10 per dog, per night applies, including a dog bed and water bowl. While dogs are welcome to enjoy our beautiful grounds and local walks, they are not permitted in the main restaurant or lounges. Dogs must be kept on a lead in public areas, and we kindly ask you to use the dog bins provided. If leaving your dog unattended in your room for a short time, please inform Reception. Guide dogs and accredited assistance dogs are welcome throughout the hotel.
Children of all ages are warmly welcomed at The Slaughters Country Inn, with infants (0–2 years) staying free of charge. Children aged 3–16 are charged at the same rate as the adults on their reservation, including bed and breakfast.
Families are invited to dine together in the restaurant until 8.00pm. Younger guests can choose from our special Garden Menu for Very Important Little People (V.I.L.P) or enjoy smaller portions from our main menus.
We offer two Deluxe Rooms, Walpole and Hawtrey, which can be interconnected to accommodate up to five guests comfortably.
We offer three unique family suites, each with its own individual layout.
Chapel House can accommodate up to five guests when including young children (under 4 years old), though four guests is the standard occupancy.
The Manor comfortably sleeps up to five guests.
Baldwins Bec also accommodates up to five guests.
Breakfast is served 7.30am-10am Weekdays, 8am-10.30 Weekend and bank holidays.
The dress code for the dining room is smart casual.
